  • Broken Oak Trail Tree #3

Another tree from the Broken Oak Trail that was reaching for more light. It was rather overshadowed by larger trees, but surviving well.

  • Out of Control Juniper

Someone forgot to trim this Juniper when it was young and now its too late and out of control.  I was still teaching when I drew this, so maybe I was thinking of some students.

  • Sequoia in Crockett

I could only see the top of this Sequoia behind some houses in Crockett, CA.  It has such a different character than the other trees there or the Redwoods.

  • Pine on Goat Hill

I drew this tree more than once sitting in the parking lot of a funeral home.  It sits on top of a hill where the C&H Sugar plant executives and managers lived in Crockett, CA

  • Date Palm Port Costa

Next to the Bull Valley Inn, this Date Palm grows in Port Costa, CA

  • Fishing Shack on Carquinez Strait

Many of the old piers and installations that were very important along this side of the Carquinez Strait before the railroad bridges were built have been damaged by vandalism and fire. This fishing shack also suffered some fire damage and had a for sale sign on it.  It sits just East of the C&H Sugar Plant in Crockett, CA
